The Highest Ever Punjabi Opener 'Manje Bistre' To Have Its Sequel In 2019

The highest ever Punjabi opener at Box Office, Manje Bistre is all set to make a comeback in 2019. Released in April this year, the movie was about a traditional Punjabi wedding starring Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa in the lead. 

Written and produced by Gippy Grewal himself, Manje Bistre proved its worth to the audience. This Punjabi family drama movie set new heights, by breaking the box office record for being the highest opener for a Punjabi film.

Highly mesmerized by such an enchanting response from the audience, Gippy Grewal recently announced the release of Manje Bistre 2, on April 12, 2019. The movie will be directed by Baljit Singh Deo under the banner of Humble Motion Pictures.

Manje Bistre was a superhit as it provided a glimpse into the real Punjabi culture, which has certainly been missed by today’s youth, where Punjabi marriages witnessed collecting Manje Bistre from the neighboring villages and the myriad other customs which were performed during the wedding ceremony.

The storyline of the movie revolved around a Punjabi wedding, with the perfect blend of comedy and romance. 

According to a report by the worldwide distributor of the movie, Whitehill Productions, Manje Bistre had grossed over Rs. 5.11 Crore for its opening, which certainly appeared like a dream come true for the star cast.

Within two days of release, Manje Bistre had already reached soaring heights. Not only did the movie received applause from the audience of Punjab but, also carved a niche in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom.
